Sleep Examiner created this page to clear up any confusion about how we create the content of this website, and what our relationships are with the manufacturers in the industry. We believe in transparency, and we are using this page to be as transparent as possible – with all aspects of our website. Sleep Examiner is disclosing this information in an effort to be in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

Our Philosophy

This site is dedicated to people, like us, who prefer to make their own informed decisions without being pressured by anybody. Whenever shopping for a new mattress, sleep product, or simply looking for a useful piece of information, we want to be in charge and make up our own minds. We don’t want to rely on the biased opinion of an under-qualified person. That’s why we have a completely different approach: whenever we write a review, we look for as much available information as we can find, analyze it thoroughly and then summarize our finding for our readers.

In some cases on our reviews, you may find “affiliate links.” Essentially what that means is that if you click the link and make a purchase, we will receive a commission. This comes at no cost to you whatsoever. It simply means that the origin of the sale is tracked back to our website. Regardless, we only recommend products we have researched and reviewed thoroughly and believe will add value to our readers.

This helps prevent potential bias while allowing us to be cautious enough to be on the safe side.

With that said, what makes Sleep Examiner so different is that even though we understand the mattress industry, unlike other sleep and mattress review sites, we don’t want you to base your decision solely on our opinion.

Instead, we take a journalistic perspective by putting together the mountain of research we do, and sharing with you our findings based on the thousands of reviews we meticulously combed through. In the process, we may formulate certain opinions based on what we have read. However, we will always disclose the difference each time for you, so that no confusion will occur.

So, while some manufacturers do send us free products that we may decide to recruit as sponsors – we WILL NOT change our opinion of their mattress or sleep product review. Again, if we choose to work with a manufacture for sponsorship opportunities, we certainly will not alter our research, thereby leaving you with an unbiased review of a system as we could possibly create.”
